New Work: Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Columbus Day Weekend 2013 arrived at the soggy, dreary end of a rainy week, after so many pristine weekends before it. The weekend we had scheduled in Rehoboth Beach for a break to get away from it all was not what we expected. Nevertheless, the rain didn't dampen our spirits -- being on the shore and breathing the chilly, fresh sea air was an invigorating start to our three days away.

Fully loaded with camera gear, I could not get out on Saturday for any photography, except for a few iPhone photos, one of which is the panorama at the top of this blog. But Sunday and Monday turned out to be more promising.

Here, then, the results. Some of the best photography is in fact not done on blue sky days, but on those softly lit cloudy, grey days, which lend themselves best to black and white photography.
